We are a well-established old world focused wine shop in New Orleans seeking a wine professional to join our staff as a peer to the proprietor. Through expertise and honesty, we provide our clients with an outstanding wine buying experience by exceeding their expectations on each visit. If you wish to apply, please do so and let us know what you would add to our team. more than five years of experience in the wine industry energy to burn and a passion for wine and food that blurs the lines between work and recreation excellent communication skills, both written and verbal an interest in developing customers regardless of their spend level the capacity to accurately remember large amounts of information an understanding of inventory and cash flow management charisma, a natural ability to tell stories and an outgoing personality AND an understanding of when to turn it off a professional appearance a polished presentation style the ability to be on your feet and to move 40 lb. boxes all day BONUS: a desire to own a wine retail shop eventually a business/organizational plan for a wine shop We seek someone who understands and assumes responsibility for all activities required to operate a small business from the big picture planning to the daily housekeeping tasks. These activities include Customer service Wine sales Day to day operations Stocking and checking in inventory Managing part-time staff Wine purchases Vendor meetings and tastings Leading educational tastings Facility maintenance and cleaning Communications and media Customer relationship development and management Offering food and wine pairing solutions Bookkeeping and cash flow planning A compensation package for this position may include a combination of the following.
